Imitation

'"The kingdom of God is within you," says the Lord.'
- Luke 17:21
- King James Bible

In The Imitation of Christ, - Thomas à Kempis, Book Two: The Interior Life, 1, Meditation:
he talks about focusing on our internal walk with God.  Ignore/dispise/don't focus on the ephemeral world around us.  It will all pass away, but the home we find with God will sustain us.  'This world is not our home; we're just passing through' on our way to our eternal home with God our father.  While we're in this world, we need to learn the lessons God has for us.  Every problem, every issue has something that God will use to help us learn, gain strength, and to call upon Him.  As we're doing what He would have us do, we're building our mansion.  We're sweeping the floors, cleaning the windows, adding on rooms.  So, do I want to have an hut in Heaven or a mansion?  Every lesson I learn, every act I commit at God's leading adds to my home in Glory.  So, I need to focus on my Father God to the exclusion of the world.
